I bought an ice cream machine and used it to make frozen custard which let me tell you is what God serves when he wants ice cream.  The first time I tasted it was at Luv-It, an old-fashioned custard stand in Las Vegas.  It was sublime, and worth driving into downtown to get it, even though it's located in the parking lot of one of Vegas' more ( Read more... )

I was pleasantly surprised by the Transformers movie. From the perspective of someone who is deeply invested in the Transformers, I expected it to be bad, but it was actually a pleasant okay. The movie was much funnier and more adult than I expected, and I was able to look at it as a tribute to something I love.
