This one is titled "blood and superstition"

step oneFrom the wound's shallow escape rivulets of blood ran down my skin onto the white linoleum floor. I had cut myself in the kitchen, being clumsy, being careless. I thought of nothing, fallen, prepared detached objectivity to move my eyes and assess the damage. The incision wasn't deep enough to ( Read more... )

Your gratitude isn't extended to an oatmeal-colored wool hat, is it? :)

I love you.

When is one's unbirthday? Is that like a half birthday?

Not even..my half-birthday would be in another month and a half. The un-birthday is just a day that isn't your birthday and it's apparently celebrated anyhow in a very ironic sort of way. I don't know exactly as today was my very first official one.

There's so much still I have to learn, Sheilah.

and I could find myself in Virginia, Georgia, Patagonia, The Bermuda Triangle - If you find yourself on the west coast, stop and pick me up on the way.

Happy Birthday

Seattle's up there on the short list. I've heard the weather there is pleasant and lovely all the time. And, according to this girl, there's also a train station.

And thank you but it is not my birthday.

There is a train station. The train is my favourite mode of transportation. F'serious.

Did I mention to you how some friends of mine threw me a surprise unbirthday party? They did. My unbirthday was on April 7. I don't tell people my birthday any more-- since the incident-- so these friends didn't have the opportunity to celebrate my birthday for the past three years. For their benefit, I arbitrarily created one and, under the ruse of me meeting them to go to the gym, they tricked me into a party. It was crazy talk. They had pasta and cake and cookies! Outrageous.

Happy unbirthday, babycakes.

You spelled favorite with a "u." Oh, that Ivy League school you go too. But that's okay, I'll do that with people from "u" using countries, myself. Because I'm afraid they'll make fun of me if I don't. :(

But that's a way better unbirthday party than I had. Actually even my unbirthday was better than any birthday parties I've ever had. I haven't really had a birthday party.

I don't know why you gotta make me so sad for, Lucky.

Thank you. :) It is - literally - the very least I could do.

So are you a real lawyer yet? I have some crimes I wanna commit here pretty soon.
