QUICK FASHION UPDATE

Oct 29, 2006 10:43

Today I am wearing a newly acquired concert t-shirt, manufactured by American Apparel, size LARGE. It has an aesthetically-pleasing image on the front and the concert dates with locations of the national tour are displayed on the back. I'm just a hair shy of 6 foot, 3 inches, usually I just round up and say I'm 6'3", and I don't remember when I got ( Read more... )

I mean, you probably weren't even alive in 1986. :)

Whoops, I suppose apologies are in order. I keep thinking the eighties were like thirty years ago or more. It's my convoluted awareness of the passage of time, indicative of someone as old and senile as myself. :(

Actually I did have a girl outside my door all night, this summer. I was this close to having to get a restrainin' order but I didn't even know how to go about getting one. This is true and it frightened me.

Hot white women, that's what I'm talking about. From Sweden or something. Disease-free.

AW YEAH.
But which band is it?

American Apparel makes a fine concert shirt. I have a Jayhawks shirt (medium) that renders me hopelessly sexy whenever I pull it on.

Don't go wastin' away though, baby. It's nice to have something to hold on to, you know? Although, I don't doubt that... I mean... OK I'm just gonna stop here... :)

You're a medium and I'm a large..I like the way this is going. Yeah, I'm gonna think about what you said for a little while.

And The Decemberists, actually!

i've got a kitten - no - two of them! i take back what i said about my neighbor in my last post and i hear american apparel is good stuff. there's this company called delia's made for really skinny teenaged girls and when i was a medium their xxl's (which were a laugh) were skintight on me. sizes are krazy. the gap has -2's and shit.

i think i'm white, i look white in my icon anyways

You're right, though..different clothing companies interpret size differently. Urban Outfitters does shit like that too, I've noticed. I'm probably still like an XXL there and they don't even make that size for stuff. The Gap can fuck off too, not because of their sizes but because of that Audrey Hepburn/AC-DC commercial.

And Alex, you are a white woman, knawmean?

i think the varying size thing might be more of an issue with chicks, who are more fashion-fashion and who go by more odd sizes. like, a vintage medium/large or a vintage size 8/10 is sometimes way different than a modern m/l 8/10, and sometimes in the same brand an 8 will fit but a 9 will be weird...and yeah urban outfitters is funny...they make those ironic vintage tees you have to buy at least a size too big everytime...but with guys, don't most of your clothes come in either m/l/xl/etc or in actual numbers, like measurements? i would think that would be easiest, especially if shopping vintage or something. i'm thinking about selling vintage and kitschy stuff on ebay in the future and it's not going to be luxurious.

1) did you see the bollywood thriller video?

2)

Yeah, the shirts are s/m/l/x/xl/xxl/xxxl/etc and the pants are done by waist and length, usually. Like I wear a 34-34 when it comes to all that, usually.

1) I think so?
2) aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaha yeah
3) I can only watch about an hour of TV a week before I want to kill myself, these days.

If I were looking for white women, I think I'd head for CA. The midwest may have more, but all the hot white chicks from the small towns move to Hollywood, don't they?

Nah, just affluent Midwestern suburbs where after college at some decent state university they take jobs as personal trainers and marry good-looking half-Mexican guys who would never love them the way that I would love them.
