Just had a direction to this posted on one of my lists....

What a riot. I feel for you though.
Do you have a list of fics somewhere though with good OFC's?

Unfortunately, I've never seen a good OFC in this fandom.

Caroline Channing, whose story I am beta-ing at the moment, is a good OFC. Flamingo Feathers accidentally left out a few of my spelling corrections, but I think they're fixed now.

By the way, I'd be interested to know what you think of Mara, my female PPC agent. (I'll post the link to the first real PPC chapter of my story during your next Sue.) She's a history nut and likes Jack a lot but isn't actually in love with him. Also, she kills Sues.

Additionally, I am working on an original fic with three female OCs. (I know, I'm just asking for trouble.) The most prominent OC's name is Hetty. She's a chunky, near-sighted middle-class woman in her thirties who was lucky enough to have a good education, has a dark past but is preoccupied with what's about to happen more than anything else, and has to learn rudimentary sword-fighting skills from a ten-year-old cabin boy. (He still beats her in every ( ... )

Thanks for the rec. I never get tired of those. I'll also read your PPC as soon as I get a chance. I loved your prologue.

As far as your story, it sounds like you have a pretty good chance. The two actual characters sound nice and even keel and not at all over the top. As far as the third, I would need to know a little more about her involvement in the story, but from what you're saying about her being a personification of a force of nature, I'd assume that as long as you treat her as such, she'll probably be ok too.

A lot of times, quite sadly, people who report Sues and things like that turn around and write them themselves. However, considering that you literally wrote the PotC Litmus, I think you're well aware of what would and would not make a PotC OC a Sue.

Personally, when all else fails I just honestly ask myself: If I heard about this story or read it and it wasn't mine would I be tempted to report it ( ... )

"No more distractions." He said. He started kissing her and pulled off her corset. He pinned her down on the bed and pulled off his shirt. He started kissing her chest. He pulled off his pants and quickly slipped inside her. He moved up and down, pumping harder and harder, and their breathing got heavier and heavier. They climaxed and he laid on the bed beside her, breathing heavily. She laid her head on his chest and they drifted off to sleep in each other's arms.

Somebody's a virgin, I think. Oh well. If that is the case, at least she didn't go into embarassingly wrong detail.

"You're too drunk, Jack. We can't do this."

"Why not? I have no problem with me being drunk."

"But I do. I not going to sleep with you when your drunk."

"But you want to sleep with me?"

"Not right now."

"When?"

"I don't know."

I think I heard this exact conversation at a frat party once.

"Good night, Mr. Sparrow." She grinned and walked out the door.

"Who's this Mr. Sparrow? I don't see any Mr. Sparrow. Perhaps you're mistaking him for CAPTAIN SPARROW!!" Now he ought to throw her overboard or something but I don't want to make the poor bloke more character-raped than he already is...

Why must these people always have Elizebeth run off with Norrington? Did they not understand from watching the movie that Elizebeth does not like Norrington?

Oh, I think she likes him well enough. She wouldn't feel as guilty about letting him down if she didn't.

But she hasn't got an ounce of attraction to him. She thinks he's a nice man, a smart match, and entirely uninteresting.
