"raven black hair, darker than the darkest Caribbean night"

Why do Sue authors constantly feel the need to remind us that black is a dark color? We've figured that out by now!

Mikky, huh?

So where are Davy, Mike, and Peter?

Not going to repeat the usual rant about period names. *clears throat* This time I am going to rant about randomly modern spellings of names that might be on the edge of otherwise plausible if they were spelt properly for the period, i.e. Michaela!

Not even going to begin to address the whole haphazard vampire thing. Though if Araeph decides to PPC this one, I hope she sends in a werewolf. And possibly Abbott and Costello.

Guess what - my PPC story was removed from ff.net. araeph March 3 2004, 14:10:49 UTC
Luvverly, no?

Without explanation, of course.

Fortunately, I save the back-ups of both postings and all but about three of the reviews, which can be found on my LJ. (The prologue, though it needs to be edited, can be found farther down on the LJ.)

But do not despair! I shall continue to write PotC PPCs for as long as I have readers, even until the ending of the world.

(Do you guys read my stuff? I know some PPCers do.)

Unfortunately, I'm so swamped in PPC-able fan fuiction that I won't be able tackle this fic for quite some time. Still, my next chapter should be up within the next two weeks. No thanks to fanfiction.net.

Would you mind if I tackled this one?

There's been a shortage of misplaced vampires lately and my DVM Agents are getting horribly bored.

I think they might carry out a raid on the HP division offices if I don't distract them somehow.

And with ff.net's search down, I'd actually have to hunt for misplaced vampires by hand... a truly terrifying thought.

Go ahead. Let me know when it's done!

Out of curiosity, what's DVM?

And is it just me, or has ff.net been acting really, really strangely lately? Just as one problem is fixed, another crops up.

Varney the Vampire
Written in 1841 or thereabouts.
Very cool. This story, however...
I'd actually find it interesting to have a pirate ship of the undead, full of vampires. Until somebody caught on (and began loading the cannons with garlic or something) It'd be pretty efficient.

Vireyda Magodaly. Well, at least this wasn't the Sue's name.

*raises hand* I thought it was for a moment there.

The gist: Jack and Sue have to fall in love by her 21st birthday or Sue will become the queen of vampires and take over the world or something.

I'm sorry, but that's the most stupidest-sounding prophecy that I've ever heard of, and I've seen some real dozies too. Oops, hey, turns out I have a prophecy surrounding me too- Colin Farrell and I must hump before the moon is full. Awhoo.

*eyeroll*

Vampires are very interesting, in that all cultures have them and all the myths are somewhat the same even though they didn't originate from the same area.

They are all bound by basic guidelines depending on where the legend is from. Many vampires, for example, cannot cross water, see reflections, or enter a room without being invited. Some can go out during the day, some cannot. Some are allergic to sliver, some are only allergic to silver crosses or religious emblems. I will stop there to spare you the true force of my nerdness.

However, I have read and researched vampire myths for a character of my own from over 20 different countries and I have NEVER seen the draining of the blood by another vampire thing before. Never ever.

That's because Sue writers do not understand the concept of research, and feel the need to make up things that don't make sense.
