Today at work someone was relating a horrible story in which a stranger in a casino placed a video camera on the floor and tried to get a shot up her young neice's skirt. Last weekend I was getting drunk at a bar with a guy I know named Bruce. We started talking religion; I'm and atheist and Bruce isn't. The interesting thing about Bruce is he beleives in God, is into Jesus and the Bible, but doesn't consider himself a Christian. An open letter to people who try to do something cute/clever on their answering machines/voicemails
Fuckin' knock it off. It's not cute, and it's not clever, it's just annoying. Stop it.
I know you think it's cute to listen to your child talk, but some of us prefere hearing a message from a person who can speak clearly, and who doesn't have a high pitched voice.

What is it about the internet that makes people think it's ok insult and berate people? Is it because the person isn't actually there, so you don't have to deal emotionally with the effects of your words? Why can't people have a civilized, intelligent debate on an issue online without being assholes about it?
