A very strange week... and it's only half done...

This has been a very strange week. Monday in a stupid trip while running up the stairs I managed to rip off my left big toe nail in a staggering display of blood and pain for something so simple as a toe. It hadn't boded well for the rest of the week ( Read more... )

Good stuff!*

(Er, regarding the poetry, as long as you're steering clear of Arvon and Bloodaxe, you might be in with a shot. *Taps nose.*)

*Excluding the toenail, obviously. I lost one of those cross-country running once. Not fun.

*chuckle* Nope, nothing like that for the poetry.

As to the toenail, sorry you've experienced that. That said, while it's tremendously annoying I'm finding that it was far less painful than I had imagined it would be, which is nice all said and done.

If I may ask, how long did it take for your nail to grow back? Several weeks or several months?

I'm trying to remember. It was a "foot-on" collision with a tree at speed, having slipped on some icy mud coming downhill, much to the amusement of my classmates (I was about 13 at the time). The nail itself didn't come off until I got home, and when it did there was a wodge of congealed blood behind it. (Strange the things we're not supposed to be able to see from those angles! "Do you know what the back of a toenail looks like?" "Um, yes I do, as a matter of fact!" Etc. *G*)

Couple of months, I think - from new growth to first clipping.

*nod und* *chuckle* Yeah... it is rather amazing what you can see. And how much blooming blood a toe can put out. *smirk*

Couple of months, though... ugh. Oh, well. Que será, será.... Thank you. :)

Oh congratulations!!! This is all wonderful news (except the toenail part, of course...ow!). I hope your new job is satisfying and helps with the finances...and best of luck with the poetry competition! I'm stating to look into similar ideas myself...how does one get one's poetry published anyway?
* big hugs *

A hearty congratulations from the house of limbo in the heart of the Willamette Valley!

Sorry about the toe (I've had that happen a couple of times for me)- I recall the recovering being forgetfully mild.

Thank you, and as for the toe, I can only hope it will be forgetfully mild. :)
