i suppose i went through this mindset in earlier entries already, but i'll repeat it for the 2008 resolve list :

- to be better.
- to be a positive example.
- to decipher what's right and wrong.
- to be able to build and structure my life soundly, from exactly where i am, without looking too far, all of the time.

( last year's much LONGER list... crossed out the one's i've managed to be better at )

looking ahead becomes much more difficult when looking into the past is so damn easy. the biggest lesson i learnt and am learning this year is to live in the now. if there is only one thing to take away, this is it. because really, the present is all we have. as the year counts down to its hasty exit, i was recently reminded indirectly by a good ( Read more... )

i'm eating a late-night bag of chips with chopsticks, as i type.

last time i ate chips with chopsticks was two years ago in hong kong. at my brother's now old apartment. playing NHL 2005. we didn't want to grease up the controllers. we were on the same team.

i'm all out of chips. and i don't think i can play that game anymore.

At certain points, we have to access our lives and determine what it is that's important. what it is that matters and what it is that excites us enough to live and plan for the future. although for a majority of my life, the pursuit of happiness was never in my radar, the desire for it creeped up a few years ago. mother theresa was a standard that ( Read more... )
