Customer Service
I need to put a stop payment on a check so I waited around for a half hour after dropping the Kid off at school for the bank to open, figuring that this would be something easier done in person. What do they tell me to do? Call Customer Service. WTF? Isn't this something that you should be able to do in person at a branch? I'm not happy. -
Bake Sale for Barack
It doesn't get more grassroots than this, folks. Moveon.org is helping people across the country organize "Hungry for Change" Bake Sales to support their campaign to get Barack Obama elected. There are several in my area. I know I plan to go to one. What a cool idea! Check it out, see if there's one in your area!

Insurance
Today I'm calling around getting insurance rates for the new house. I think it would be easier to stick with our current company, just go with a different agent in our new area, but it doesn't hurt to see if we can find something better elsewhere. I'm really tired of getting those email forwards that are designed to scare people into voting for one person or another, those emails that encourage ignorance and intolerance. Most of those emails are not at all factual even though they claim to be. Please, people. Stop sending them on. Just hit delete!

Web designers, please take note
I'm not a fan of websites with music that automatically plays when I open the page. Quite often I'm listening to my own music while online and it annoys me to have to listen to two songs at once, especially when the one on the website is usually not as good as whatever it is I'm already listening to.
