B stepped over, leaning in to look Sylar in the eyes. His own were wide and dark, giving off the appearance of red and a stranger quality still to those more sensitive to death.
"I saw it, above your head once. Everything you need to die. Your name, the span, before they-" he pointed to the covered sky. "-took it away. Remember Sylar?" He paused. "Gabriel Grey."

"No, but--"
But there was a way to fix that. Not exactly, not completely. But it could help. He reached out to touch B. It wouldn't take much, a brush of the hand, maybe. But he didn't just stop there, that would only give him a surface reading. To really know, he'd have to hold on. Dig deeper.
One of the most useful things Angela Petrelli had given to him was the girl with the power to read histories of things-- people, even-- just by touching them. He wasn't looking for B's life story or anything, he just wanted to know why. Why they became friends, the history between them. Secrets? He wasn't above cheating to make that happen.
As he got pulled in, he could feel the other man's madness tainting him a little. Bringing out his own. But that had always been the way, hadn't it? He let go of his hand after a couple minutes that had felt significantly longer, and reached out to hug him. Because that was what friends did.

When he let go B's hand automatically went to his lips, his habit from L, only to be pressed against his chest when Sylar hugged him. His eyes widened again, this time in surprise that was almost comical to watch. He hesitantly, humanly, placed a hand on Sylar's arm in return. Friendship, co dependence, it was the most disturbing thing.
Then it hit him like a flash. "Welcome back friend." He said in the giddy tone of a manic child.

"It's not like that here anymore, though. A lot of the things you remember, it's not the same. It's changed." He left it at that, not sure what to say next. He mulled on it for a couple minutes before speaking again.
"They're not here anymore. All the people you knew, all the people I knew, " except Elle, but she was being an insufferable bitch so she could be forgotten and overlooked, "they're gone now. We're all we've got now, you know?"

"You can never go home again." He said in a sing song kind of voice, eyes sliding to Sylar. "L is-" He didn't say it. The bitterness was far too sharp on his tongue.
