Apparently I'm building some kind of muscle in my arms, because I didn't hate myself shoveling snow.

I devoured the Steampunk Bible this week (a pretty good read, though elitist at times) and there's one interview that asks, "why do people get into Steampunk?" And the short answer is, because we like to create. Partway though hymns during church service, we break to greet one another and shake hands. (It's actually my least favorite part of service because, you know, forced interaction.) Recently, as I was shaking the hand of an older woman, she did a double-take and said, "wow, you're pretty."

A coworker of mine recently complimented my appearance and said, "That trainer of yours is doing a good job." And I laughed, thanked her, and went on my way.

I give up on things too easily. This isn't really news-I could never be bothered doing things that required real effort, even as a kid; luckily I could achieve most things with minimal effort. At least, the things I wanted to do. I wouldn't say I was a prodigy, but I was smart. I got good grades without studying; I was one of the best of my piano ( Read more... ) -

I don't remember if I've mentioned it, but one of my co-workers is quitting to pursue a life of freelance. (Mmm, freelance.) At least, that's what we've been told: She'll be a freelance copyeditor.
