In real life or on LJ. On LJ I think it's because people get back to their rooms, on their own, and realise that the partay is, in fact, over. The random LJ posts are a cry out for more social interaction.
In real life, I'm not sure. Perhaps it's a declaration of non sensibleness; like people in their mid thirties, wearing loud shirts and saying, "watch out luv, I'm well mad, I am".
Not on LJ, that was a musing, not an announcement. I meant in real life. We know it makes us sound silly, and unable to handle our drink, and that there is very little chance anyone is actually interested.
