transitions are freakishly scary. and i know how you feel, wanting to do something just to get things moving again.

also-craigslist can be so discouraging! what with people not calling back, etc.

i have a very positive update! right after i wrote this i successfully steeled myself to the outdoors by putting on shoes (how brave!) and got the phone, called the dude, left a message on his voicemail, and only 20 minutes or so later he CALLED ME BACK! wow. unfortunately he doesn't have the apartment ready to view until this weekend, and he'll email me when he sets up an open house. grrr an open house is less than ideal, as there will be all these "professionals" and "yuppies" elbowing me out of the way with their good credit and furniture and comfortable incomes. but, at least i did it! i felt unmired for a minute or two. but now i am re-mired. gah.

I swear this entire year has been made up entirely of peaks and troughs on varying scales, just as you described here.

I suppose getting unmired then re-mired is better than just drowning in mire, right?

Also, Open House = megafail. HATE those!

yeah, this is my whole life. i used to get my mom to do things like this for me. now, i just avoid almost everything. it's not a great way to live, but sometimes i'm hopeful.
