Sunsets
I am in awe of nature these past few days. The weather is gorgeous, a cool relic to hang on to when the heat of July and August descends upon us. The sunsets have been lasting half an hour, and I find myself sitting in my chair watching the sun painting every glorious color imaginable every night. I am currently trapped, trapped I say, in a downward spiral of laziness. The one problem I've had with not working on a regular basis outside of the home is pushing myself to produce in a meaningful way. There's something nice about a rainy late spring day. It's cool for the first time in almost a week, the breeze is from the north, and it's a quieter, more subtle kind of day.
As a side note, the house is being inspected today, so we should know soon whether or not it's structurally deficient or has any issues. Keepeth thy fingers crossed. -

Wow...no posts in over a year on here. Any particular reason? Nope, just nothing of real importance to report. Grad school seems to simply be a slugfest of perserverence these days, rather than a chance to expand my body of knowledge and discuss research and such academic principles as I expected to find when I came here. My gawd I have to get my sleep back in line. Posting at 1 AM and just now getting tired. Maybe I need to start drugging the wife in order to make her tired earlier in the evening. Glorious Spring!
Today was the first really warm day of spring, and though it brought with it strong winds, the wife and I went down to Neal Smith Wildlife Refuge to get some hiking in. This is one of the reasons that I hate breaks. My sleep schedule gets all out of whack, and next week is going to suck because of it. Almost 1:30 in the morning, and I'm wide awake.
