Just got out of History class and my mind jumped to my fishbowl cosmology, which is more of a discussion of the possible and the actual. The divine is usually attributed the former, the personal the latter. The idea is that being part of the actual is like being in a glass globe set in the larger set of possibilities. I promised myself that I'd stick to a set sleep schedule and be in bed by midnight so that I could be up by 7 am in order to be in class at 8 am, but I'm back sitting in the library. One of the annoyances on my last trip to London was that I walked from the Tate Modern to the Elephant and Castle roundabout looking for the Michael Faraday Memorial and couldn't find it. No plaque or concrete statue in sight anywhere. There was a huge steel casing there that looked like a fancy covering for some industrial eyesore like air ( Read more... )

I've been adrift since I came back from England this summer. Life has become less dire since this time last year, so one would think I'd be happy. I've got my place all to myself in a quiet neighborhood, my workplace is considerably less tense, I got a raise, I got accepted to university. So why am I feeling lost?
