Tolkien was right. “It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him.” Maybe the dragon would be more amenable if the knight in shining armor made it a cauldron or two of coffee before waking it up. The advice seems to transfer to some humans, too.

I like the imagery here, especially in the last couple of paragraphs.

I don't think I could stand a drink as hot as that though. My mouth blisters if I accidentally take a sip of my hot drinks too soon! Especially hot chocolate, for some reason.

Thanks! The person in question is my boss - her apartment adjoins the office, and she is the SUPREME morgenmuffel. I got into the habit of ghosting thru with coffee so it would kick in before she made it to the office, it improved everyone's morning!
