This evening, K stayed home with our sleeping boys, and niallm and I went out.

Like, together.

As in, we actually had a conversation.

With each other.

And it ranged over multiple topics.

And other than waitresses bringing our drinks and so on, nobody interrupted usIt was Ay. May. Zing ( Read more... )

2. made me laugh a lot. My parents resorted to phenergan so often when I was small (and hyperactive at night) that I can still summon up the taste. I really liked it and viewed it as rather a treat - (I'm guessing it is mildly habit-forming!)

I've heard people say the same about Calpol, which isn't habit-forming - perhaps calmer, kinder parents are habit-forming?

Mind you, I think Calpol is disgusting, especially the sugar-free version. The kids like it so much we've had to lock it up though.

You honestly don't know how disgusting Calpol is until you've necked half a bottle because you have a migraine and there are no other painkillers in the house.

I am especially impressed with the "conversation" part, not just staring at each other with exhaustion-deadened eyes across the table.
