I am saddened by the sudden death of Carrie Fisher, who, a long time ago and in a galaxy very near to our hearts, was a fiery rebel princess. She was a vivid, strong-willed presence in the entertainment industry as well. I feel very sorry for her family, who surely did not expect her passing for many years yet ( Read more... )

My old apartment is sold; and I am adjusting to life in a smaller apartment in better condition. The last few weeks were odd, saying goodbye to the old place was less about the four walls and empty rooms than recalling the memories I had of them ( Read more... )

This week I've been clearing out the old apartment. I'm about 95% done; the closing on the place will take place in a week. It looks quiet and empty; and the living room echoes a bit.
