So I went to dinner and hung out with kyneburh last night. She was down here for a couple of days consulting with a company a few miles from my office. We had a nice time, chatted for a long time. Tomorrow is Nicholas's 5th birthday. I am picking him up from pre-school today then he and I are going to go out to dinner (likely Red Lobster - he LOVES crabs) where I will give him his cards and have the staff bring him a cake and sing to him (I was going to make a cake and sing to him at home, but I just felt like it would be silly to spend ( Read more... )

It's 2:30 AM - the end of yet another 20+ hour day.  This one was filled with:

• Replacing the dog chewed sprinkler head (that causes a gyser of water 12 feet high)... Again.
• Being so behind at work that I don't know where to start, yet somehow still performing just enough miracles to stay employed

My (soon to be ex-) wife moved out on Friday. She has primary physical custody of our two boys (Nicholas, 5yrs and Taylor, 18 mo).  They were with me most of the weekend as she was preparing the house, on Sunday she picked them up.  Watching them drive away was the most heart wrenching experience of my life - even though I know they only live 15 ( Read more... )
