Went to Costco and got a Brita tap filter for us.. It filters for taste as well as stuff-in-water-that-we-don't-want..

The apparatus itself and 1 filter is about $40, and a 3-pack of filters is another $40 though.. I was wondering whether we really want it or not because my parents aren't paying for it..

Oh, btw.. there's no need to bring kettles next year. I've gotten permission to bring one of our water boiling thingys.. it carries a few mugs-worth of water and will boil it and keep it at a near-boiling temperature..
