Know Your Slush!
Today it started to rain and this rain soaked into the loads of snow that was still in the drive and on the road. Even with chains on I spun out for several minutes trying to get out. Then the driveway is a downhill slope of about 30 degrees and my car actually slid out sideways and into the road. This stuff is worse than the snow for driving ( Read more... ) -
Snow Bound!
The Seattle area has been getting one storm warning after another this weekend. The roads are treacherous, so I have stayed indoors today. When I looked outside this evening I was shocked at how much snow had actually accumulated. It hasn't fallen so much as it has sifted. Amazing Weekend
I took a somewhat impromptu vacation this weekend. I told my brother I would take a car-load of their things down to Cave Junction, where they are moving. This is right on the Oregon-California border near the coast. Long-Awaited News.
Up until this point I have been annoying everyone I know with each smallest tid-bit of news I had about Jon's Visa. When he had his medical exam I told everyone. PDX and poultry.
I hate holiday crowds. I just do. I don't like being crowded to begin with, but holiday crowds are the absolute worst. In stores shoppers run for the last can of pumpkin puree and push you over on the way, their eyes glazed over like a pair of Christmas hams, in their haste to spread holiday cheer. Or something. The last leg.
So, the very last bit of the Visa process is at last underway. Jon and I started working for his Visa last February and today he has sent off the last of the required documents to the embassy and should have his Visa in a matter of days. I am running myself straight into a state of burn-out. I obsessed over a test in biology last week to the point of neglecting a program I had to do for my computer class.
