movies for surgery recoverers: --Saw --Face/Off --Darkman --All that Jazz --House (TV) --Texas Chainsaw Massacre --Kill Bill --Pleasantville --the Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (one of my desert island all-time top five favorite movies) --Love Actually --Superman II --Blazing Saddles
that's all I got. After the morbidly suggested movies about gore/cutting/hospitals I kind of ran out of juice. Definitely check out The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai though. It's a great, fun, B movie.
same thing happened to me getting home after i got my wisdom teeth i remembered counting down from 10, getting to about 6, and then the next thing i remember i was waking up in my bed at home. i hope you have an easy post-surgery! i was lucky with mine...was off of drugs in less than a week
I remember being extremely proud of myself for putting my sweatshirt on all by my very own self. Don't remember a whole lot of getting home and getting in the house. But now I am doing mental toughness exercises, a la football. I'm all, "I will get better. The pain is nothing. Whining is weak. The victory is all there is. Victory will be mine. Victory over what is still a little unclear. Pain is temporary. Success is forever." and crap like that. Post-surgery will not keep me down. I will continue to not work on my honors project with amazing vigor! I will successful get back to freaking out about my house within a day! VICTORY!
Watch that you don't *suck* on the popsicles. You can rip out your stitches if you do. No sucking on anything.
Did they give you Oxycodine? They gave me Oxy, and I stopped taking it when I started having dreams about Rand from Wheel of Time going to my school. It was bizzarre. I also couldn't deal with the drooling it induced.
Now that I think about it, I might still have those somewhere. Maybe I could pay for my last semester at Oberlin with them. Or maybe not.
They're not really sucking popsicles. They're more chewing popsicles. And so very, very delicious. So. Very.
I got Vicodin. Which has done exactly nothing, as far as I can tell. Didn't put me to sleep, didn't keep me asleep, nothing. So disappointing. But at least there has been no drooling.
My post-surgery actually went really quickly, so there's hope to feel better in a few days. So, non-bloodly movies then.... -Oceans 11 -Matchstick Men -hitup the tasty Disney. No one can blame you for reinacting your childhood when you're on painkillers. Bambi! Sleeping Beauty! The Little Mermaid! Also, catch up on those that came out after you were a little too old for them. Balto, for instance.
Also, highly reccomend books on tape or CD. You can lie there all comatose-like and still be entertained. -Anansi Boys or American Gods by Gaiman -Dark Tower Series, (all or it, really, but start with the first one, Gunslinger) Stephen King
So much love for Oceans 11. Less love for Oceans 12, but at least they looked like they were having fun making it.
Ha! I never got too old for Disney (much to Jake's chagrin). I think I have seen Balto several times. Also a couple of those horrible sequels to actually good movies, like Lion King II. Not Little Mermaid II, however, because there was only so far I was willing to degrade myself. But I could totally go for some Aladdin right now, as long as I could turn off the part of my brain that's going, "Wow, this is an incredibly racist movie. I meant, look at these portrayals of Arabs/Persians!" Thanks, Oberlin. You've ruined Aladdin for me.

However, I may accept Buckaroo Bonzai. I have not seen it. I know nothing about it. But if it is a deserted island top five, I will watch it.
Apropos of very little, I think I need a dog named Baby Jesus. And then I will be able to say he is weeping.
My God, I've lost it entirely.
