I can't imagine a more horrifying situation. I"m so sorry. I know how much this pregnancy means to you and I"m praying for you and the unaffected twin, and all your family.
There is no reason for this. You didn't cause it. Remember that, hold on to that.
I"m appalled at the callousness of the specialist. I really hope your regular OB can be a better advocate for you*hugs tight* In the end all I can really do is cry with you, hope with you for the unaffected twin, rejoice with you that the first trimester is over and you are feeling better, and be here to listen.
1. I'm a guy. 2. I don't understand the urge to breed AT ALL.
That said, I hope you'll be okay. Certainly, it would be nice if A were also okay, but mostly, I'm rooting for you, here. If you make it through this, all other things can be beaten down and smoothed over.
*hugs* I'm so sorry. I've met children who have survived without most of their brains. It isn't pretty. In fact, it's pretty heartbreaking.
I'd like to beat the specialist upside the head with a clue-by-four for being an ass. There is a lot you could study to figure out what to do, but in the end the doctors should be able to explain things in simple layman's terms. I have no idea what the right or least risky thing to do is in a case like yours, I just hope for a good recovery for all involved. I'm adding you to my prayer list.
When it comes to the 15 year old, congratulations! The time really flies by doesn't it? I just realized recently that my middle child only has a year left of preschool before starting kindergarten. I hope he's having a good birthday and a fun tail end to the school year.
oh god i'm so sorry :( i'm glad you seem to be handling it pretty well but it is major suck (hello understatement) that this happens when you've put so much time, money, and effort into this process.
i'm home without a job or anything so if you ever want to talk, i got my phone. i hope things turn out as well as they possibly could. <3

From what I do know, that sort of thing is unlikely to be caused by anything that you can do much about so...
I do hope that your specialist quits being an ASS and gives you some serious options instead of being a know-it-all.
