So, what is the Recast Big Bang, anyway?
It's probably best to start off with what the Recast Big Bang isn't.
- It is not a challenge for general crossovers, which feature characters from two or more fandoms interacting directly.
- It is not a challenge for general AUs, which feature characters from a fandom in new and original situations.

My idea is that I’m going to take the movie In Time and recast Will Salas and Sylvia Weis the into Puck and Quinn (from glee). That’s qualifies for this Big Bang right?? Also would I have to follow the plot exactly to make it count or can I make my own adjustments here and there so long as the basic premise is the same as the movie?

Yes, that is completely the right concept, replacing the original characters of one fandom with ones from another. And no, you don't have to follow the plot exactly, as long as the premise remains the same - after all, it makes complete sense that things wouldn't happen just as they did originally when you have different people at the centre of it. Essentially, just remember that it's got to be tighter than a standard crossover, you're not just using the 'verse, but the whole show/movie/book/fandom concept.
Hope that helps!

But anyway, it's really hard to give you a definite answer. Essentially, just remember it's not a crossover - you are recasting a fandom. The plot doesn't have to remain identical - it's highly unlikely that it would, after all, once new people are filling the key roles - but you do have to follow the premise of whatever fandom (here, the Avengers) you choose. So assuming that you went with the movie!Avengers, you couldn't just stick the Harry Potter cast in as the team and then have them go off solving new crimes or whatever, you'd have to have the HP cast as the team defending the earth from this one character who's come to this because of ______ and also Harry has been asleep for 70 years because Gilderoy Lockhart hit him with a memory charm. Or something. Obviously this is not exact, but hopefully it helps.
Basically, you do have to follow the premise of whatever fandom it is you choose, and cannot just use the 'verse in general. Does that make sense to
