In the spirit of getting the hell out of Long Beach, having a drink, and putting myself closer to my friends so they can see me if they want without having to drive to the LBC on a Wednesday night, I'm going to celebrate turning 33 with a few cocktails, some friends, and some laughs.

There's something sort of clarifying about driving late at night, on my way home, my mind tracking back to all the numerous times I've driven back along the 5... from Leigh's place when she lived in Glendale, from Cam games... all these different... all the reasons I've had to come north, and all the late night drives back home.

My life certainly seems to be full of "isms" just recently. 
It's nice in a way. They don't tend to be sparkly or quite as interesting as epiphanies or mysteries or the various other "ies" that I have found my life full of at times, but there's a density to them I can appreciate, like the comfort of a firm mattress.

It's 8pm, and I'm still in my bathrobe.

What's more, my bathrobe is on over the clothes I slept in.

Which are still stinking of smoke, citrus odor neutralizer, and damp with rainwater and booze.

That was a hell of a thing, that party last night.
