I feel like less of a train wreck. =)

I'm not so hopeful as to expect change to happen overnight, but I'm certainly delighted as to the turn of things.

Came home to see my mom this weekend. She had been in China for a month. Thank god she's back. My daddy is really funny and strange. I never realized this but my daddy doesn't know how to write checks. He can do lots of things but most of those things involve physical labor and cooking. My dad works at Wal-mart. He's a pretty lucky guy since he barely speaks English and has a job at Wal-mart. It's a lot better than most of the Chinese in the area where I grew up who work in restaurants all day long (12 hours or so). I am such a strange mess when it comes to knowing what I want.

My friend has been in the hospital since last week. She doesn't have a whole lot of family and just had major neurosurgery so a lot of people are taking turns visiting her. Lots of visits later, I realize now that hospitals make people crazy. Most of the residents I know that work in hospitals are slightly crazy, as are the nurses. I think I'm ( Read more... )
