Not character related question and more a Player related one. I am no longer active on Livejournal. I have a main journal at Dreamwidth. Is this okay? I have a few friends with the same situation, a few that don't even have Livejournals for various reasons. Could they still play here and list their Dreamwidth journal instead?

If you look carefully on the apps, you'll see that the personal LJ question is actually optional! As long as we have a reliable way to contact you, you don't need to provide a journal at all. ^^

SO REGARDING THAT HANDY DANDY INTERNET...

Is it possible for a character to maintain a blog under an Internet handle? It would be fairly harmless - just one of the many, many picture blogs about golly my life is just so interesting right now, etc. etc.

I don't see why not! As stated before, there are heavy content filters on all school machines and many blog sites would probably fall under those (so no updating in the computer lab!) but characters could still access it freely on personal devices.

I might just have missed it somewhere, but how long are application cycles open for?

Each 'cycle' is a week. Applications will be open Sunday through Friday and processed on Saturdays. They're closed while we're processing; any posted on Saturday will have to wait until the next week to be processed.

I just want to absoluetly double check, but this comes under the genderbend policy as well as the no clones policy. Am I correct in assuming that even if a character is techincally a genderbend but at the same time possesses a different personality and name and was 'designed with the idea that had the creator designed the original character as a girl, this is what she would be like.' they are still disallowed if say the original version is taken? I only ask because the case with Nyotalia and Hetalia can be a tricky one and I wasn't sure what your standing would be on it.

Could you give us a little more information, please? We're having a little bit of trouble understanding exactly what you mean.

As far as the genderswap policy goes, we only allow one version of a canon character regardless of gender.

diff person, but I think they were referring to how the author of Hetalia made canonical genderswaps of his characters in a series called Nyotalia. The Nyotalians are based on the same country stereotypes as the Hetalians, but are supposed to be considered different people.

Okay, after some discussion amongst the mods and some research, we've decided that there isn't enough difference between Hetalia and Nyotalia to justify there being character slots for both. We will be going with a 'one country' rule regardless of gender or Hetalia/Nyotalia and listing them under the Hetalia canon.

Is there any method students can use to earn money while at school? Are they allowed to get part-time jobs on the mainland or something?

Travel to the mainland is only allowed on school-planned weekends and holidays/breaks.

Whereas it is possible to get permission for a weekend pass for work if a character is at least sixteen years old, as per French labor laws, and is maintaining good grades, it is not a common privilege. This is something that needs to be touched upon in an application and will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

The odds are, as long as the requirements are met and there is an understanding that the privilege could be revoked, will will probably approve it.
