Has your character had any experiences with reincarnation? ...Well, it's technically not strictly reincarnation. He did kind of fuse with half of a demon when he was five, though, to the point where he more or less is the new incarnation of said demon, if that counts...
...Also his best friend and his other best friend's older brother are in similar boats (it's complicated), and a childhood friend of his actually is the reincarnation of a goddess. But he doesn't know any of this.

Has your character died before? He was clinically dead for two minutes once but is pretty much alive.
Has your character killed someone before? Yes, regrettably - but it goes with his job (FBI). He's never been happy to do it and tries to avoid it. I have no idea how many, though - at least three, I think.

Has your character suffered the loss of someone close to them? Several. His mother at age fifteen, his friend/crush Marie a year later, the love of his life Caroline brutally murdered (in his arms, no less) much later. Those are the main ones. All in all he's been very close to death several times, both in his own life and through his job.
