Patty cake, patty cake, Baker's man!
Bake me a cake as fast as you can!
You roll it, and pat it, and mark it with a B
and put it in the oven for baby and me!

The "B" and "baby" are replaced, as you do.

Side note: whenever Hannah hears this tune she immediately starts "rolling" her hands. :)

Awwww, how cute! Trent doesn't play along with it yet. He does smile and laugh though. He just isn't clapping or rolling on his own.

I know both of your ways. I guess that's probably because we're from the same general area.

Yeah, Becky is remembering correctly. We used the roll it and pat it method. But with Ben, we just roll it. ALOT!!!

That's what i'm thinking. Its a southern thing to do the second one. It is very different from most other versions.

Wait wait, now that I think about it, I think we also did roll it and roll it and throw it in a pan! But that was when the kids were very very tiny and rolling their arms made them laugh.

We also said throw it in the pan loud and forcefully so it went kinda death metal there at the end.

We do the second one and get high pitched on the "put it in the pan" part and tickle baby's belly hoping for a smile
