Yeah the title says it all.... I went to the doctor yesterday and I have a virus that's hit my bronchial tubes. Fun times! There's not much to be done and I am getting better - I'm just feeling grouchy about it. Hopefully I'll be better by the time I fly back to Glasgow!

So. As I think I've mentioned before I really don't like the aesthetic of day caps in general. Especially for the 1812 period. I made a cap that I've posted about before but I'm not really satisfied with the way it looks.
So I made another one, also from Fitting and Proper. I hated it too. ( cut for blahness )
I am beyond excited for this Friday's practical class! We're doing costume mounting AND I was assigned a 1780's pet en l'air! (Also I get to do it by myself so I'm selfishly looking forward to being able to take charge and do what I want). This will also be my first contact with an 18th century piece of costume. For our practical class last week, the topic and skill we were going to explore was humidification. I wasn't quite so excited for this topic because it really doesn't sound that interesting. How wrong I was! I had a lot of fun in class! It was truly amazing how a tiny amount of water vapour can work magic on a creased textile.
I threw myself a Thanksgiving Party since this past weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving. I don't know any Canadians here so I invited the girls from my program as well my roommates who are all international students as well. The party was a total success! Everyone was incredibly kind and enthusiastic! I had a blast and I'm pretty sure everyone else

I bought a new sewing machine! I couldn't bring mine with me because I didn't have the space in my luggage and it wouldn't plug in here anyway. I bought a John Lewis Mini.
