Royal Mail, Royally Annoying
So I've ordered my books from amazon. I received most of them easily enough. The majority of them came together in a package that mysteriously appeared in front of my dorm room door. Lab Books
So something that is a good habit for any conservator is to keep a lab book, or, as they call them here, day books. It's an informal record of the details of procedures and hours worked while in the lab. Ahhh Residence... So restful
We had a fire alarm at 2am last night. Of course it had to be the night before my first day of classes. I was kinda nervous as well so what little sleep I had was restless. Necropolis Pictures and a Vintage Dress
So today has been my third straight day shopping. This must cease. I have bought many items that I adore so... that's enough! No more! I shall be virtuous and do something constructive tomorrow. I promised my pictures from the Necropolis and here they are!

Glasgow Cathedral and the Necropolis
So since I have nothing to do until classes start on Monday I spent the afternoon exploring Glasgow Cathedral and the Necropolis. I really enjoyed myself! It was a quiet solitary afternoon which suited my temperment perfectly. Glasgow Cathedral is the oldest building in Glasgow and parts of it date reliably back to the 13th century. Sleeves are Hard

Sleeves are very hard. At least these ones are. I tried one mockup and it just made me tired. Left to do is the hem, inside finishing on the bodice and sleeve. Luckily things came in the mail to distract me today!

One Last Regency Progress

I've made some progress on the checked linen dress. I sewed ALL WEEKEND. I'm getting kind of tired of this project though. I just want it to be finished. I thought I'd post a few in progress pictures and hopefully get some opinions at the end of this entry.
