CADD strikes again
Bah. I have CADD. Working on Big Red has been slow and somewhat boring. I am not proud of it, but I have totally jumped ship to working on a new set of 18th Century stays. I am using the Diderot pattern out of Corsets and Crinolines. Obviously I sized it up quite a bit and I am also angling the straps a bit in as otherwise they don't sit on my ( Read more... ) -
Costume College
So, taking a big jump into the scary pool, I am going to Costume College. My friend Krista is coming with me, but otherwise I won't know anyone there. I worry that I am going to be a loser standing on the sidelines in a crappy looking outfit or making a fool of myself with my nerdy tendencies. Sigh. Dumb anxiety, right? -
Skirting the issue
Despite best efforts by the fraying silk to fray, I conquered the ruffles on the skirt. Now I just have a massive amount of fabric to cram into a waistband and I can start on the bodice! I need to get this dress done so that I can start on something else. I have events that I need clothes for! -

The first cut is the deepest.
I got the skirts cut out for my Victorian project! I was so scared at first because I always freak out when I have to cut silk. I always think I am going to cut something wrong and then the whole project is bust. But it is done! I have to work the next 3 days, so I probably won't get anything done until the weekend, but this is a great start. -
Yay!
I got all the silk bias tape made for my upcoming Victorian project. Very proud of myself right now. Next up? - Skirts!

2012 Year in Review
My original 2012 plans were ambitious, but not over the top. Yet, looking back I don't think I paid attention to the list at all. I didn't get a single thing done that was on it!

Happy-a-long: December 11-13
All right I give in. I will not be able to continue the happy-a-long with the 3 things a day thing. Bah. Two nurses at work are in the ICU on vents for various reasons and two more are out with the flu, so they are desperate to get coverage for the units. Enter me.
