Got A Head-Cold....

Just what I didn't want and got anyway this week.

My throat is sore, my ears are stuffed up, I'm sneezing and coughing.

BUT I don't feel bad despite Hubby's having dragged me off to Turkey Run State Park for a long walk Friday. (It was a gorgeous day!)

The view from the suspension bridge over Sugar Creek was a pretty one despite the drought our ( Read more... )

summer colds are the worse
I don't like long stairs either
but you did it! I'm glad there were good hand rails.
canoeing was fun until the shallow parts, don't know If I could do
it as easy when I was younger but I usually was in back steering it seemed to be less work. I'd like to make a small coracle not as easy to steer but it might be fun? if the fabric is strong enough use it for sledding :)
today's learning video was about wild cherry bark
as a cough medicine.. i'm wondering if cherry juice would help the same way?

In the spring, you may have a higher water level in the creek or river, but that water, and the air and the ground, will be colder than they are in the autumn/fall.

If you're going to wait until spring (or, better in my opinion, fall of next year), you might take advantage of the opportunity that affords you to continue to improve your overall body strength, and your balance.
While I think of it: have you done any canoeing before? There are specific strokes to do specific things with the vessel, and how you position the paddle---one pair of canoers were trying to use the paddles the same way one would use oars, and this isn't effective with a canoe---and another important question is this: can you swim? I know you do water exercises, but can you swim? Spills and slips and wee mishaps do happen. Knowing how to maneuver the canoe, solo, can be useful if your paddling partner gets injured or is heat-stressed or otherwise needs to take a break.

It's usual when you have a partner in the canoe to put the heavier, presumably stronger, ( ... )

Viruses...and while the weather is still good they are not happy events. I'm glad you were well enough to go, though.
I can climb stairs just fine and even quickly. It's going down my balance gets wobbly so I'm just extra careful. You managed just fine!
Feel better!

Thank you kindly. I've made a potful of veggie/beef soup to eat tonight. I'm thinking the heat will help soothe my throat.

{{{hugs you}}}
