My computer is apparently getting ready to crash and burn. I keep getting signals that the hard-drive is going bad and the speed has gone way, way down from what it was. Some days I can get to LJ and sometimes I can't.
Hubby will eventually get me another computer but it will be a while as he's busy with his students and his never-ending load of

Limping through the rest of October and then throughout November and most of December is not going to be much fun.
Even though I can stop by the public library and use the computer lab during the afternoons, I'd much sooner use my own computer at home.
This will be the last "reconditioned" computer I ever buy!

I know you like to tinker with pc's, so I'm assuming you've done all the stuff one does with great hopes; every kind of scan, every sort of cookie/tracker remover, new hard drives, maximum memory put in, all that sort of thing.
I like having the use of a computer, I enjoy the convenience of online this and that (email, LJ, sometimes shopping and less frequently even buying), but these beasts can be a right pain.
Wishing for you that your new computer and you get together sooner, rather than later.
