Mr. Never-in-one-place .......

Even for someone who's been moving around a bit in the recent years, 2008 has been absolutely crazy. It seems like I'm never in one place.

January: I welcomed the new year in Bangalore, and spent some days in Banaras and Delhi before flying back to Germany (I'd been to Agra and Belpahar in the last fortnight of 2007, by the way).

February-March: ( Read more... )

Australia, Canada, Poland, and regular trips to Freiburg - all academics related, hence sponsored by Uni/Insti/Project funds.

Rest self.

Wow, wow...what is Poland like? I've always been curious.

Well, I only visited Krakow. It was nice, but also full of tourists, so maybe a less representative experience of Poland in general than going to a smaller town. But then one'd likely have a tough time in a smaller place, without any knowledge of the Polish language. As it is, there were eateries without a menu in English even in the town centre of Krakow.

Krakow is a nice place to visit, but rather than describe the sights, I should post a few pictures :-)

Going from Germany, most things seem much cheaper (except in places full of tourists, of course). The weirdest exception was to find a German store in a shopping mall, which was charging more than it does in Germany :-p

Interesting travels; I am being a home body these days!
and getting lazy :-)

How come you did not jump across the line and land in the US?
:-P

Yes, my friends in the U.S were suggesting that :-)

Magar ek aur visa lagta na! Didn't even have the time to apply for that - there were 7 weeks between the trip to Poland and the one to Canada. Not quite enough time to apply for both the Canadian as well as U.S visa.

Such constraints have also contributed to me not travelling to the U.K this year (for a brief vacation).

You talk of being lazy - but look at that usericon!

Hmm, I could swap all these trips for 3 trips back home in a year :-)

Have fun at the wedding!
