new tentative plan for japanese class, autumn semester:

- complete my word-replacement tools to learn kanji meanings
- do a few rounds of this listening practise a day
- read at least 1 page of manga a day; look up words using the DS handwriting-recognition dictionary only
- watch 1 video a day

my meeting at the unemployment office is at 13:00 today, but we’re actually leaving  at 9:00 since my wife’s meeting there is at 10:00. i woke up at 3:00 and the office wants you to give them a sample of your CV and cover letter (btw in sweden it’s like japan, you’re supposed to write a separate CV for each type of job you’re applying for, so ( Read more... )

long story short we talked to the social services guys who are supposed to help give us money and/or help us pay for an apartment. first we went to the emergency psychiatric ward, they gave us a referral to a psychologist at a health clinic. we talked to her, then she forwarded us to these other guys. these guys call/email us, then we get forwarded ( Read more... )

turns out the native american porcupine quill stuff is not at all the same technique as how they sewed beads on, it's just that the end result looks similar (to me - keeping in mind that i'm almost blind lol). i'm convinced that the porcupine stuff is a lot easier ( Read more... )
