Not that this is intended to make you feel better, but it took me about 6 months to find my first "real" job out of college - and I hardly interviewed in that time frame.
And I'm pretty sure fasterthanlight went to HS with the author of book #11. Ask her to be sure. She's definately from our hometown.
I did tons of temp work and was working in a warehouse when I finally got the "real" job. Wasn't even something related to my degree (it was working for a credit card company as a customer service rep). But yeah, I blame the degree. If you don't go immediately into grad school or want to be a teacher, it's a tough row to hoe. So to speak. But hang in there.
How was #11? FTL and I haven't read it and we're convinced her Daddy bought her the publishing contract, so I'd like to hear from someone less biased.
I liked it, it was a good story, though I think the main character got on my nerves sometimes. The writing must not have been bad, because I know I would have remembered that. I wouldn't call it light and fluffy but it was entertaining. It was one of those books I kept reading because I wanted to read it, as opposed to books I keep reading because I don't want to read them anymore (if that makes sense).

And that's pretty cool. It was Sarah's book; I wonder if she knew that.
