I've kept a pretty regular personal journal (the pen and paper kind) since I was a senior in high school. The other day I was reading through some of my early stuff and it is pretty embarrassing. Whenever we went traveling when I was a kid, we slept in tents at campgrounds, and when I saw houses nearby, I would wonder what it was like for those people to live so close to a campground. Later I realized it wasn't like anything to live close to a campground when I realized I live less than a mile from one. Duh ( Read more... )

Our first real winter storm of the season and it had been only sleet since last night until about an hour ago when it finally changed to snow. It was a noisy night. Today I hung our Moravian star, a task that had me using a stepladder and screwdriver and doing minor electrical work (read: taking out a light bulb and screwing in an adapter).
