Regarding hair

I just bought this shampoo that's supposed to make your hair grow faster. I really, really hope it works. Here's a question though... should I really let my roots grow all the way back in or does it look better black? I don't want to dye it for the rest of my life. I'm not sure if the reason I like the black so much is because it's what I'm used to ( Read more... )

Yeah! That's at my friend Erik's apartment. Good eye.

No color-stripping products for me. (regarding other comment) When you've been dying your hair black for 9 years a shampoo is not going to work. If I wanted to strip out the color I'd have to use harsh products at a salon and part of the reason I want to go back to natural is because my hair is in such bad shape. I want it to be healthy. Anyway, I stripped out the color once when I was 16 and it looked nothing like my natural color underneath. It came out bleached totally in some parts and still dark in others. I dyed it red right after that so it didn't matter though. After this long I don't think there is a natural color under there. It's black to the core. What do you think looks better though?

Wow! You look REALLY beautiful in that second picture. :)

Um...I think your natural color would be a nice change, but the black is nice too. Maybe go back to your natural color for just awhile? That's what I usually do. But it IS a pain in the ass to have your hair two different colors for a long time.

Frankly, either hair color looks fine on you. Have you considered going with a temp-color dark brown on your roots to make the transition a little less obvious?

Yeah, but I don't want to do anything else to damage it. My precious roots must remain untouched!

I have a friend that lives in those apartments right now! I thought that was those. Neat. It's a small world, that Denver. ;-) If color stripping won't work (and that makes sense) I would say the natural color might work well, especially if you trying to get it to get healthy again. Have you thought about dying a portion of it to make the transition easier?

It is a small world!

I think my only hope is that my miracle hair growth shampoo works. If it doesn't I can go with horse shampoo. I've heard from a whole bunch of people that that works. I'm pretty much between waiting for it to grow out or just accepting that I am going to dye it forever.
