I was reading some of the poems assigned this week and a few of them did not make any sense to me what-so-ever. Like, “A Supermarket in California.” I never would have guess the writer was simply talking about himself imagining what his favorite poets would be doing in the grocery store. This week we are reading about poetry. I never really liked poetry because I found it difficult to interpret the meaning of most poems and I thought I’d never learn to understand it. So, after high school I never read another poem. Even our English book says it’s one of the more difficult pieces of literature for people to read and understand.

The first time I tried to sit down and watch this movie I was with my mother. I’m pretty sure we didn’t even sit through the whole thing. I read a lot when I have spare time, but I have never really thought about how I read. I definitely do not write in my books.
