Guys, I'm not sure what to do about this.... 3 weeks ago we had two voters. I was busy that night and was going to post it the next day but forgot, which then turned into making it a double post the following week. That Monday came around and we only had two voters again. Facebook happened. Lack of Tom Cruise happened. The decline in quality wrestling programming happened.

Does anyone else read Lance Storm's Q and A's on his website? I often find myself wondering why he bothers (or why I bother). It seems that at least half of his answers are "I don't really see the point of thinking about [whatever specific quest was asked], so I don't have an answer" or a similar non-answer. It's too bad, because he seems like he is really smart (wrestling-wise), but his personality appears to be as bland and dour as his wrestling character.

Possibly the last vestige of the old territories is finally gone. Dave Brown, long-time color man for Memphis Wrestling has finally retired as the weatherman for local NBC affiliate WMC-TV. Brown had been the chief meteorologist since 1977, and had been play-by-play man Lance Russell's side kick since 1979.

I always liked watching the clips of Memphis Wrestling because I think it was very much ahead of its time in many respects while still being old school rasslin. That formula is probably why it lasted so long even after the McMahon and Crockett expansions.

Anyway, I loved Russell and Brown because that they imparted some legitimacy to the lunacy of pro wrestling. In over 20 years of hosting studio wrestling every Saturday morning, no wrestler ever hit or involved Russell or Brown in any story lines. They were beyond reproach.

Happy retirement Dave!

I can confirm the accuracy of all of that. The first day we made the deal for your friends to get those tickets I was stressed about them not working, but I meant it when I said I'd buy them scalped tickets to ensure they got in. After reading your thing on FB, I'm really glad they were able to go with you. And I had an absolutely great time; until now I had forgotten about the drunk ladies spilling on me. With the plan working to perfection and getting to meet Steve and Brock too, I have a hard time believing last Saturday really happened, lol.
