Iraqi President Jalal Talabani has been discharged from hospital in Amman, Jordan, and is flying back to Iraq, the state-run Petra news agency says.

It says Mr Talabani, 73, was smiling and joking as he boarded his plane.

Mr Talabani collapsed from exhaustion and dehydration two weeks ago. He was last seen in public on 24 February.
