Auto tune and Glee
My life was better before I discovered the existence of auto tune. I sort of enjoy it used in ridiculous amounts - see Cher's "Do You Believe in Love." But it sounds really funny when applied without irony. Like in Glee, where there are apparently several characters who shouldn't be cast in roles that require singing. "Smoky eyes"
I am heartened by the number of cosmetics that now show instructions for the "smoky eyes" look.
Last year I attended a really good workshop on this; I wish I'd taken notes, as, reviewing the handouts, I see that they aren't as clear as they could be.

Staged
We officially put our house on the market today. It's not a good time to sell, though I'm told it's a good time to buy. I've bought three houses, and will have sold them all at a loss once we sell this one, so I'm not that impressed by what a good time to buy it is. (Yes, interest rates are at historic lows. Finally saw Repo
I've been putting off watching Repo. I heard the soundtrack and was unimpressed; I am really tired of random B-grade films trying to launch themselves off of Rocky Horror fans (paging Showgirls and Hedwig); and I hate horror films, so the fact that it's directed by one of the SAW directors frankly scared me a little ( Read more... ) -
When the house belongs to the next people who buy it
I'm looking at moving. I have nothing against the house or community I live in, but they are simply too far away from where I work.
This will be the third house I've sold. And I only became a homeowner for the first time within the last ten years. Buying a house is only a good investment if you can wait out the market, and I've never been tied to ( Read more... ) -
