So some of the rooms in my dorm are not directly connected to a particular suite, but instead open to the hall and serve several rooms. Thus they have more than one stall and people leave the main door open sometimes. This happened within about two miles of campus, and rattled my dorm pretty substantially. I'm still confused after reading Seattle P-I's account of it how the first two explosions happened (I posted a link on Facebook to the story). A squirrel passed in front of me today, as squirrels do, and I noticed that it had noticeable nipples, as though it was currently nursing. And I thought, "That doesn't make sense! Squirrels lay eggs!"

I was walking to campus on Alder this afternoon (which is a semi-residential street) when a man yelled at me. Typically what occurs is one or several honks, and by chance I had been reflecting on that topic earlier. It is a startling experience and serves to jolt one out of one's private thoughts. I am glad my mother's boyfriend stayed over to motivate her out of bed this morning; it did much for my peace of mind. My flight was at 11:44, so we had to be out of the house at 9:30 at the latest.
