It seems that the only time I update my journal is when I am under stress. I guess its a way for me to vent and get it all out. I just am not sure what's going on, I don't want a new house. OK, my wife is really stressing me out. She wants to sell our house and buy a new one. Anyone familiar with Northern Virginia knows that is not cheap. There is a gated, golf course community she likes but really wants a particular style house not offered there. Need 5 bedrooms plus extras. Why, we do have 4 kids but can't 2 share a room?

Man, has it been a while! Just wanted to write that I really love kids. Not teenagers and preteens mind you, but, little 2 - 5 year olds. My 4 yo is the best. Smart as a whip and knows how to put it into your face, with sayings like "lets not and say we did" when we were going to his 4 year check up. LMAO. I have been busting butt, getting a merger together and shutting down one company. Its done. Now all I have left is the little things. Nice to have time to breath for a change.

I hate this time of year. Nothing is easy. Emotions in my house hold run on high, kids don't get to bed on time, parents for that matter either. My wife and I can't stand to look at one another. Right now I just want to drive away and not look back.

I find that my life is not interesting at all. I read back on the entries that I made and they are about family or my complaining. Even I don't want to read that. I just had to layoff one of my own employees. That really stinks. Not that I haven't had to fire people before, because I have. Just never one of my own direct reports. I remember each and every person that I have fired, the feeling never leaves you.

What do you do when you have people reporting to you and you know one of them is leaving at the beginning of the year? Do you give them the same gifts that you give the other employees? Hmmm such a hard decision. This person is a below average employee to begin with. We won't miss her.

Well finally I am ready for Christmas. Deb & I have wrapped all of the gifts, they're are a lot with a 6 person family. We finished the last one on Tuesday. I went out today and bought a couple more gifts for Deb today. The list as it stands ( Read more... )
