My car was in the shop today so I had a loaner vehicle... which turned out to be a BRIGHT RED four-door Rabbit. One of my coworkers referred to it as "Stop Me Red." I thought I had some great pictures for today, but when I downloaded them they were blue! I had the camera set to force the white balance, and I didn't realize it because it was too bright to see the image well on the screen or in the viewfinder. The wildlife is starting to come out with all the warm weather we've been having. This chipmunk was rustling around in the underbrush in the park. I spotted him/her when I paused in the shade during my lunchtime walk.

I made this headband quite a while ago but never took pictures. Today I paused during my walk in the park for a quick photo shoot. I probably looked pretty silly sitting there and pointing the camera at myself, but I did get some good shots.

In the park near my office there is a giant playground. It's a lot like one we used to play on as kids, in Tarrytown. We used to make special trips to that playground since it was half an hour away. In particular I remember one part of it that was like a pirate ship. Check out the one in Bennington:

This picture was actually taken in August of 2008 when Dave and I went to Howe Caverns. I just scanned it today. This is the traditional "pose for a picture and then buy it later." Normally I don't go for those, but this one turned out well. Much better than the ones on roller coasters where you look so undignified. :-)
