Mother admonished me severely for not visiting during the New Year period. While I stand by my decision, I suppose a brief make-up visit is in order. I need to restock on some kendo supplies, anyway.

After some deliberation, I have decided to take the dan-ranking exam for kendo. I will spend the next several weeks training and studying for the exam as well as for any contingency that might occur during my travels for that exam. Thusly, I may have to reduce our group training slightly. I apologise for the inconvenience.

My (mortal) elder brother has  sent me a letter complaining that his wife cooks mostly chicken and seldom beef, proclaiming that the former is more versatile and delicious. He wishes to know if there is a divinely sanctioned preference for one of those meats.

...as far as I know, the gods accept both kinds equally well as offerings.

This is a thing that will surely pass. So everyone should concentrate on doing what they can for training or use this time for meditation and reflection and stop wasting energy flailing around. Tarundoru!
