Recently, there was an article in the NY Times about how amateurs are using web tools to make their own maps. I was thinking -- why not do something like that with this community? Maybe make a map of recommended restaurants, and tie it to our tags? There is a lot of potential in these tools and in this community, and I'd love to combine them. ( Read more... )

Has anyone here tried Azafran in Oceanside? It's the only other Cuban restaurant that I know of in the San Diego area, aside from shittyass Andres. They only have 3 reviews on Yelp, so I'm curious if any of you LJers have gone. Let me know if it's any good. Thanks!

So I was introduced to the wonders of Japanese curry the other day up in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles, and I'm wondering if there are any good curry shops in San Diego that specialize in Japanese curry. A good Katsu curry recommendation would be especially appreciated :)

On doctor's orders, I have been asked to remove wheat and gluten products from my diet. At best the initial diagnosis is a wheat or gluten allergy; at worst it's Celiac diseaseThis leaves me with a whole lot of little when it comes to eating out. My husband & I are moving into South Park in few weeks. I have been there few times. I have hung round my soon to be new home at night, I have done my homework & the place seems alright.

So I'm going to San Diego for the weekend and want to have a full rack of Phil's fall-off-the-bones-tender ribs. I know their Mission Hills branch is temporarily closed, so has anyone been to the Sports Arena one? Is the quality the same? Is the place bigger?
