Hi Peter. I am so sad for you over this. So much of it is beyond your control and I can't even really imagine how much this hurts you, but I know it goes to your very core.
Do you ever get an opportunity to speak with him one-on-one? Also, have you ever spoken with Nathan about it? Sometimes, when I'm confused about one of the kids, I ask the other what he thinks might be going on. I'm not playing them off each other, they just seem to have a good insight into the situation and each other.
I think I might have more to say on this, but I will continue in a private post to you. We are on the way up to Evelyn's (my mother-in-law) today. I will mull it over in my mind. I wish I knew Mathew better. (Hug)
Thanks. I've had very mixed results when talking to Mathew about it. He's usually pretty defensive, aloof or distant. Sometimes he seems sad, too, but doesn't make much effort to resolve anything. I do ask Nathan, but he also seems frustrated with Mathew. He says he has no idea what's going on with him. This leads me to suspect that maybe he does know, but doesn't want to tell me because it would be even more hurtful.
Well I've been thinking about this now for quite a while. (I couldn't figure out how to post privately to you, but I guess I don't really need to anyway
