Hmm...I just came across the new Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds video on youtube and I can honestly say I don't know what to make of it yet. I suppose that it has been several years since the man has expected anyone to take him entirely seriously, and since then I've found the whole thing pretty refreshing. I guess it all started with him yelling "my ( Read more... )

i think i like this. i mean, it's a good...i'm not sure that "song" is the right word. at the same time, i both picture this song growing on me but not being something i'd ever choose to listen to on its own. i do like it better than anything off the last double album.

of course, hearing it for the first time by way of watching the video (and by this i mean 'tasche) it confuses things even more. though not much happens in the video, i daresay it... "helps".

ah yes, re-reading what i've written, i think this would be a great song on a soundtrack. it works as an accompaniment to something. about half an hour ago i was listening to "the sweetest embrace" by cave & barry adamson from "the acid house" soundtrack and i finally decided that was a really good song but was wondering what i would think of it had it been in the context of a whole bad seeds album.

this is the most i've had to say about nick cave for quite some time. i'm kinda happy that i feel he's worth talking about extensively again.

I suspected even as I was posting this that I would probably convince myself that it was awesome eventually. It does grow on you and after watching it three or four times over the course of the night I was really into it. So much so, that I wanted to watch it when I woke up today. The chorus has also been stuck in my head ever since. Plus, you get to see Nick Cave pointing with imaginary guns he has made with his hands.
